Help 4 Homeless Veterans is a charity that provides homes for ex-service people who find themselves homeless after leaving the forces.
Reallies partner Efficiency North worked with St Leger Homes to provide homes to homeless veterans of the armed forces in Doncaster.
Working through the Community Covenant at Doncaster Council the charity signed an agreement with St Leger Homes to rent up to ten properties initially that the charity then control and sub-let to homeless veterans as they approach the organisation for assistance. Help 4 Homeless Veterans regularly fund the rent from charitable money until such time as the individual can pay their way either by getting work or receiving benefits.
Help 4 Homeless Veterans were granted £10,000 from Efficiency North’s Community Investment Fund which is part of the wider social value fund that Reallies partners contribute too. The funding was used to furnish the properties and fund rent for some of the tenants.
Steve Bentham-Bates, CEO at Help 4 Homeless Veterans, said: “These are good people who for whatever reason have hit a difficult time in their lives. We are proud of the support that we give to these people who have all served their Country on operational service around the World. The charity is also grateful for the financial support received from EN which has enabled us to turn houses into homes for our homeless veterans.”
